This little box was inspired by The Golden Compass.It is fabricated in 1/8th inch stainless steel.The surface was textured (while flat) with a converted air hammer that I made my own points for.The pentacle pattern inscribed on the surface was cut with a horizontal band-saw (also when the disc was flat) before forming.I made a convex male and female matching die set to form the two halves with a hydraulic press.There is a flat spot on the bottom piece so the box will sit flat and stable.

The latch and hinge are both fabricated from scratch.
I'm planning on having a carrying case made in leather with a long shoulder strap as well...

I've welded two little bronze finger tabs to make it easier to open the box...
