This gallery contains my largest public works as well as small models of works I hope to make much larger someday.
This was a piece I'd conceived for several years ,having built it in my mind on countless occasions. I knew all it would take were four identical rings cut and pasted with torch and welder. One day at my favorite steel yard I happened on a reject stack of four rings formed from 1 ,1/4 steel pipe and knew I had the parts. I hurried home with my "treasure" and had the thing together in less than an hour. This is a prime example of the mind racing ahead of the time space continuum and the causality of "thought is action". The actual physical building of the structure was done by rote ,on automatic and almost an afterthought. There is a very special part of the will which gets exercised by making things over and over again. With time and practice it becomes facile ,(like any developed muscle). For this type of manifestation, and many other reasons ,I have been terned a "Maker"( a timeless label). I am comfortable with that rubric and take comfort in the fact that my particular skills would become apparent and appreciated in nearly any time in history. Indeed the Celts(my heritage), put metal workers on a par with the elite warriors and the druid clergy themselves because, at that time these skills were considered "magical". This piece is available.
